Have you heard about some changes coming?

What is an Integrated Care System (ICS)?

This is the name of our new health and care system, which will oversee the broader health, care and wellbeing strategy for Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire. The statutory ICS is made of an Integrated Care Board and a wider Partnership committee.

What is an Integrated Care Board (ICB)?

The NHS board - within the ICS - that takes over responsibility of planning, budgets, and resources from the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

What are Integrated Care Partnerships (ICPs)?

There are six place-based partnerships working at a local level. They will bring a range of organisations together to deliver care for the communities they serve. The six ICPs are South Gloucestershire, North West Bristol, Inner City and East Bristol, South Bristol, Woodspring, and Weston, Worle and Villages.

How will this affect my health and care?

It's designed to prevent illness and improve the health of the whole population. More support will be provided in the community and local teams will work together to personalise care around your needs.

Why is this being done?

This is a change that is being rolled out nationally, with the aim of keeping you well in your community and helping you to get the most out of health, care and support services in your area.

When is this happening?

You will begin to see changes in 2022.

What does it mean for me as a local person?

The majority of your needs will be met closer to where you live, and services will be simpler to access. Care will be centered around you, considering your medical symptoms alongside your mental health, social and wellbeing needs
